This tour combines Zanzibar’s cultural heritage with its natural attractions in a single, well-organized experience. You will begin in Stone Town, the historic heart of Zanzibar and a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its cultural and architectural significance (UNESCO World Heritage Centre). Walking through its narrow streets, you will visit important landmarks including the Old Slave Market, which reflects Zanzibar’s role in the 19th-century East African slave trade, the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe) built by the Omanis in the 17th century, and Freddie Mercury’s House, associated with the birthplace of the famous Queen singer, who was born in Zanzibar in 1946 (UNESCO; Encyclopaedia Britannica).

After exploring Stone Town, you will take a short boat trip to Prison Island (Changuu Island), located about 5–6 km northwest of Stone Town. The island is known for its population of Aldabra giant tortoises, a species originally gifted to Zanzibar by the governor of the Seychelles in the late 19th century. Some of these tortoises are more than 100 years old and are among the island’s main attractions (Zanzibar Commission for Tourism; Seychelles Islands Foundation).

The tour is designed to be convenient and stress-free, with transportation and logistics arranged in advance, allowing visitors to focus on experiencing Zanzibar’s history, culture, and wildlife in one day.
