We offer an immersive culinary experience in Zanzibar that transcends standard cooking classes, showcasing ourselves as heritage keepers dedicated to presenting cultural journeys. This experience allows participants to engage deeply with Swahili life, starting from a vibrant local market where they select fresh ingredients while gaining insights into the interwoven connections among food, family, and tradition in Zanzibar. Participants will have the unique opportunity to meet local women who embody their heritage and share it through their culinary practices.
In the kitchen, participants will prepare traditional Swahili dishes from scratch, including soft, hand-rolled chapatis, fragrant pilau rice, and rich curries with freshly grated coconut. This cooking process introduces them to the exotic spices that Zanzibar is renowned for, as well as the techniques for blending these spices to achieve authentic flavors that can be recreated at home.
The experience culminates in enjoying the meal that has been prepared together, encapsulating the essence of Zanzibar's culinary heritage and ensuring that the flavors and memories last well beyond the experience itself.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the tour or transfer date are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made 24–48 hours before the service will receive a 50% refund.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the service, or no-shows, are non-refundable.
- In case of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances, we offer a free rescheduling of the service.
- Any changes to bookings must be communicated in advance.
Advance Reservation
- To guarantee your spot, especially during peak tourist seasons, we strongly recommend booking your tour in advance.
- Early booking helps you avoid last-minute stress and ensures your reservation is secured
How To Pay
- A 20% deposit is required to confirm your tour booking. The remaining 80% balance can be paid in cash at your hotel one day after arrival.
- I will personally meet you at the hotel reception to give a short briefing about our tours.
- After the briefing, you can pay the remaining balance in full, and I will write a receipt for your booking.
- If you prefer to pay by credit card, a 5% transaction fee will apply.
