Here, you will be taken on a guided walk around the farm, where you will be learning about Zanzibar’s rich spice heritage & discover how famous spices like cloves, Cinnamon, Nutmeg & Vanilla are grown and used. This excellent experience takes around 5 hours, making it a perfect and relaxing half-day excursion.

Your Zanzibar holiday isn’t complete without visiting the island’s famous spice heritage, which dates back to the 16th century when cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and black pepper became valuable commodities in global trade.
Located just outside Zanzibar Town, the spice farms offer a unique opportunity to explore lush plantations and learn about a wide variety of spices, including cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and more. During a guided walking tour, guests discover how these spices are grown, harvested, and prepared, with plenty of chances to see, touch, smell, and taste them fresh from the source.
The experience also includes tasting delicious tropical fruits straight from the trees, such as jackfruit and pineapple, along with refreshing coconut juice. For a fun and interactive touch, visitors can watch (and even join) the making of palm-leaf accessories like bracelets, rings, ties, or glasses—adding a playful moment that makes the tour truly memorable.You can savor what you learned by tasting the traditional meals cooked with the spices you just found out about.
Our local lunch at the spice farm is a wonderful local meal we’ll have after the tour. The lunch is made with local produce and Zanzibari spices. Our pro driver will take you back to your hotel after lunch.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the tour or transfer date are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made 24–48 hours before the service will receive a 50% refund.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the service, or no-shows, are non-refundable.
- In case of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances, we offer a free rescheduling of the service.
- Any changes to bookings must be communicated in advance.
Advance Reservation
- To guarantee your spot, especially during peak tourist seasons, we strongly recommend booking your tour in advance.
- Early booking helps you avoid last-minute stress and ensures your reservation is secured
How To Pay
- A 20% deposit is required to confirm your tour booking. The remaining 80% balance can be paid in cash at your hotel one day after arrival.
- I will personally meet you at the hotel reception to give a short briefing about our tours.
- After the briefing, you can pay the remaining balance in full, and I will write a receipt for your booking.
- If you prefer to pay by credit card, a 5% transaction fee will apply.
